Spider Pest Control

Safe, Targeted Solutions for Australian Spider Infestations

With over 35,000 known species worldwide—and thousands native to Australia—spiders are a common sight in homes and outdoor areas. While many are harmless and even beneficial (feeding on other insects), a build-up of spiders in or around your home usually indicates it’s time for professional pest control.

At Coopers Pest Solutions, we offer comprehensive spider control treatments to help protect your family, home, or workplace with long-term results.

How Our Spider Treatment Works

Our spider treatment includes a powerful spray and dust method that eliminates existing spiders and prevents re-infestations by creating a long-lasting residual barrier. The treatment also helps control:

  • Large cockroaches

  • Silverfish

  • Carpet beetles

  • Creamy-coloured crickets

  • Existing wasp nests

For internal infestations involving redback or white-tail spiders, we apply fumigation (smoke bombs) to reach hidden zones—like under furniture, behind cabinets, and in cluttered areas—where normal sprays can't access effectively.

Because spiders need to come into direct contact with the insecticide, ground spider treatments may require more regular attention, particularly in high-risk areas or properties with a history of infestations.

Areas We Treat

We treat your property thoroughly—inside and out:

Roof Void: A fine dust is applied throughout the roof cavity using a dusting gun.
Internal Areas: We spray along all skirting boards and apply dust into cracks and crevices. Fumigation is used where needed.
Sub-Floor: Dust is applied beneath the home, where accessible.
External Areas: We target windows, gutters, fascia, garages, sheds, pathways, weep holes, fence lines, cracks, Telstra pits and more. For ground spiders, a full blanket spray is applied across external ground surfaces.

Spider Treatment Preparation Guide

Internal Prep:

  • Declutter and clean the home

  • Limit paper goods and dispose of unused cardboard

  • Wipe down benchtops and under appliances

  • Clean sticky food residues from jars (honey, syrup, sugar)

  • If smoke bombs are used, vacate the property for 6 hours, and air it out thoroughly before re-entry

External Prep:

  • Mow the lawn

  • Pack away children's or pet toys

  • Remove excess garbage and tidy up the yard

  • Keep pets away from treated areas for at least 4 hours

What to Expect After Treatment

Spiders will begin to be flushed out immediately and over the following 6 weeks. Here's what you can expect:

  • Window spiders: 80–90% reduction

  • Redback spiders: 90–100% reduction, depending on the initial infestation

  • In severe cases, we recommend a follow-up treatment after 3 months

  • In heavily vegetated or bushy areas, spiders can return due to the environment

What Spider Treatments Won’t Do

We’re always honest about what treatments can and cannot achieve. Spider control is most effective when combined with good housekeeping practices and regular servicing. However, we cannot guarantee the prevention of webbing spiders if:

  • You live near bushland

  • Your garden is overgrown

  • You have many external windows

  • Trees around your property are not treated (as we cannot spray them all)

Remember: spider treatments require direct contact with the spider. Clutter gives them more hiding places, so less exposure to the product means reduced effectiveness.

Ongoing Prevention Tips

  • Seal cracks in windows, doors, and walls

  • Repair leaks—spiders and other pests need water

  • Clean up crumbs, spills, and food scraps promptly

  • Store food in sealed containers

  • Empty bins regularly

  • Vacuum and mop often
